Mantua – After a two-year hiatus, the Downtown Mantua Revitalization( DMRC) will hold a spring fundraiser to help with the organization’s efforts to help make improvements in the historic village.  The event will take place on Saturday, April 9th at Hughes Hall at St.Joseph’s Church on Pioneer Trail in Mantua.

This new-to-the-DMRC space gives us a larger space to allow our guests to spread out more,” noted DMRC event organizer Paula Tubalkain. “Our team is working to lighten and brighten the space,” she noted. The Spring Fling event will have an energetic, pop art theme. The group chose this new, lower cost venue in an effort to use the group’s funds more effectively.

DMRC funds have been used to help develop walking trains at Buchert Park, provide the Village with matching funds for grant projects, and for mural projects to beautify the Village. Funds raised this spring will be used to redo concrete at Buchert Park picnic shelters and basketball courts and to replace fencing at the basketball court.

That evening, ticket holders will enjoy delicious appetizers, followed by their choice of barbequed brisket, pulled pork, or salmon, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, and coleslaw. Each ticket holder will also receive two tickets to use at the bar; more tickets may be purchased throughout the evening.

Each event ticket is also entered into a pool for the opportunity to win $1,000. In addition, every 10th ticket drawn wins a gift basket throughout the evening. Additional opportunities to win are also available, with numbers available for purchase on sideboards, through ‘lucky 7’ and an additional opportunity to via a 50/50 raffle.

Tickets can be purchased for $120 per couple via the DMRC website, www.revitalizemantua.org, in-person at Jake’s Eats, or by contacting any DMRC member or by emailing paula.tubalkain@gmail.com.
