Derek Musgrove, 50, of Garrettsville, OH passed away on February 2, 2024, at the Hospice of the Western Reserve from a debilitating case of cancer of the mouth. Derek spent much of his life as an electrician. He loved four wheeling, rocking out on his guitar and drums, and enjoying his favorite bands. He loved his dogs, especially MK. While living, Derek bravely donated one of his kidneys to his dad, the late Dennis Musgrove. Derek suffered from years of addiction which isolated him from himself and others. The family wants to recognize the cross of addiction on Derek’s life and its impacts on others. Derek is survived by his mother Constance (nee Soltis) Rose and stepfather Lynn E.Rose; stepmother Beverly Musgrove; his daughter Erika Musgrove; his sister Nikki Henderson (Luke) and brother Michael Rose; loving Grandmother Bernice Soltis, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by his father Dennis Musgrove, grandparents Donald and Taimi Musgrove, grandfather Edward Soltis, uncle Dick Musgrove, aunt Marian Groff, uncle Jeff Braden and cousin Trina Kellogg Nick. Much gratitude to the Hospice of Western Reserve, Arbors of Streetsboro, and Area Cremation of Akron for their services. Donations in Derek’s memory can be made to the Red Tulip Project https://redtulipproject.com/donate (Notification of the memoriam can be done through the link to Constance Rose 16775 Peters Rd.
