The League of Women Voters Northern Portage County, in collaboration with Theresa Nielsen, Deputy Director of the Portage County Board of Elections (BOE), is hosting an event aimed at answering questions about election security and procedures.

The event, titled “Democracy Dialogues: Inside the Ballot Box,” will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Warren Sherman Hayden Memorial Auditorium, located at 11715 OH-700, Hiram, Ohio.

The discussion will cover a range of topics, including how voting machines are protected from tampering, the security of paper ballots, and the processes that ensure the integrity of early voting. Attendees will also learn why some election results are available immediately while others take more time to be reported.

This event offers voters an opportunity to gain a better understanding of what happens before, during, and after Election Day.
