Deck the Paws Giving Tree Holiday Drive Brings Cheer to Shelter Pets

731

This holiday season, two Garrettsville businesses are inviting the community to help make spirits bright not just for people, but for pets in need.

From November 17th to December 22nd, visitors can participate in the Deck the Paws Giving Tree at two convenient locations, each offering a unique way to support Portage APL.

Natural Radiance Studio (8098 Main Street) features a Christmas tree with ornaments showcasing pets from Portage APL and the items they need most, from toys and treats to food, blankets, and cleaning supplies. The community is invited to pick an ornament, purchase one or all of the listed items, and return their gifts to the donation box beside the tree by December 22nd. Each ornament also includes a QR code for those who prefer to make a monetary donation.

Daystar Ford (10301 Liberty St) hosts a giving tree dedicated to cage sponsorships. Visitors can select an ornament featuring a shelter pet and scan the QR code to become a cage sponsor. Sponsorships provide direct food, medical care, and comfort for pets until they find their forever homes, with options ranging from $50 for one month to $500 for one year. Sponsors receive name recognition on the cage they support.

“Our goal is to make the holidays a little brighter for the animals at Portage APL,” organizers say. “Every item or donation helps provide comfort and care for pets who are waiting for their forever homes.”

The Portage APL is a private nonprofit, no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing, healing, and re-homing abandoned and abused animals across Portage County. Donations from community drives, such as Deck the Paws, help fund essential supplies and veterinary care for hundreds of animals each year.

By joining the Deck the Paws Giving Tree holiday drive at either location, the community can share the warmth of the season in a meaningful way, helping tails wag, purrs rumble, and hearts shine a little brighter this winter.
