Life-long resident of Garrettsville, David W. Read, 64, passed away on December 9, 2019 at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland after a long illness. He was born December 29, 1954, in Ravenna, Ohio to Wayne D. and Velma (Judge) Read.
A 1973 graduate of James A. Garfield High School, he was proud to have served his country in the United States Army, receiving the National Defense Service Medal as an Expert Rifleman. He worked as a machinist at several local manufacturers and retired in 2018.
David will be deeply missed by his loving mother Velma Read; sister Cindy (David) Vincent; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Wayne and nephew Daniel Vincent.
A Graveside Service for David will be held at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
