David E. Wanstreet age 56 of Newton Falls passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday morning July 5, 2024. He was born on Aug. 31, 1967 in Clarksburg, West Virginia; the son of the late William L. Sr. and Wilma L. (Dodd) Wanstreet.
A lifetime area resident, Dave graduated high school and went into the welding trade, having worked at Liberty Fabricating and Steel, Warren Steel Holdings, Republic Steel and Olympic Steel. He also owned his own business called Liberty Welding where he was a contractor for North Star Steel. At the time of his passing he was a maintenance manager at Howmet Aerospace in Niles.
Dave was a family man and loved spending time with them along with his close friends. He loved hunting and fishing, especially in West Virginia with his son, Andrew and their closest friends. He loved decorating for the holidays, especially when it came to putting up his Christmas light display. He was a member of the AmVets Post 112, where many of his friends were members also.
David leaves behind his wife, Jackie L. (Warren) Wanstreet, whom he married September 27, 1997; their children; sons; Andrew (Candace) Wanstreet of Poland and Kevin Royer of Garrettsville; daughters; Mandy (Jason) Figinsky of North Jackson, Liz Wirick of Newton Falls, sisters, Karen (Jeff) Wanstreet and Judy (Gary) both of West Virginia; his brother, William (Julie)Wanstreet Jr of Alabama; his grandchildren; Oakley, Kyra, and Aunna Wanstreet, Logan, Lexie, Londyn Figinsky, Mackenzie, Aaron and Kylie Royer, Tiffany Wirick, Brody Wirick, Taylor (Tyler) Almashy and Madison (Fiancé- Nick Schippert) Wirick; great grandchildren; Oliver and Elijah Almashy and Leila and River Wirick, nieces; Britney, Roxanne, Missy; Kellie (Jason, Adam, Jack, Owen; Norris), nephews; Tony, Steven, Mike and Zachari. Dave will also be missed by his neighbors Jeff and Melinda who he shared a close relationship with.
Calling hours were Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 5-8pm at James Funeral Home. A funeral service was be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 10:30am with Pastor Tom Holbrook officiating. Burial was at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
