Dan graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1988. He was liked by all those who grew to know him. He was naturally athletic and one of his proudest moments was playing High School Football and scoring a touchdown in the 1987 McKinley/Massillon game. His love of the game continued at West Liberty University. Unfortunately, his studies were cut short when his father became ill and he made the decision to come back home to help support his family. Around this time, he started dating the love of his life. They married November 18, 1995. Their Love for each other was admired by many. On March 1, 1999, they welcomed their twin daughters into the world which made their family complete. Dan was a fantastic father and laid the foundation for a hard work ethic which was instilled in his daughters. They too, were gifted with athleticism. He was their greatest supporter of the game of golf in which they excelled from age 6 through their high school and college years. Dan would light up a room talking about their latest tournament and accomplishments at school. He referred to the twins and Michele as “His Girls.”
Before his illness, you could see Dan driving around town as he honked his horn and gave a wave from the Coors Light Beer Truck while he was out making deliveries. He drove a beer delivery truck locally for 15 years. Prior to driving, he worked for the Hoover Company for 7 years. He also managed Maggiores Drive Thru for 8 years. His work status was changed drastically after he sustained a work-related neck injury in 2018 which led to surgery in 2019 leaving significant nerve damage and the early onset of Parkinson’s in 2020. In May of 2021, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. By sheer will and a superhuman mindset, he beat all timelines. With the complications that followed, the doctors and nurses agreed that he was a true Miracle. Despite enduring a tremendous amount of pain and suffering, he managed to keep his wit and humor. We will all miss his infectious smile!
The Family would like to thank all that supported and prayed endlessly for Dan and “His Girls.” The amount of love shown will never be forgotten. As per Dan’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life and Memorial Mass will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to assist with medical expenses incurred over the last few years to PO Box 8243 Canton, OH 44711. Arrangements entrusted to Mark R.
