Crestwood Schools Fiscal Year Ends Favorably

At their July meeting, District Treasurer Katie Hoffmeister provided the Board with an overview of the end of Crestwood’s Fiscal Year 2024. She noted that the district ended the year with a general fund balance of $9.3 million. 

Hoffmeister noted that at fiscal year’s end, Crestwood had an all-fund balance of $13.2 million. She noted that Revenue was calculated at $28.2 million., and expenditures to date came in at $28.8 million. Hoffmeister reported that the district received a large revenue increase in interest, ($600,000) during Fiscal Year 2024. She summarized by noting that the year ended favorably with an additional $71,000 as opposed to what was previously forecast.

In other news, the Board entered into a service agreement with Greenleaf Family Center, Community for the Deaf to provide sign language interpreting services for students on an as-needed basis. The Board also entered into a service agreement with ZVRS & Purple Communications to provide students with virtual sign language interpreting services on an as-and-when-needed basis as well as with the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio for Visual Impairment Services throughout the 2024-2025 school year. 

Similarly, the Board approved annual increases in base salary for Non-Union/Non-Exempt (clerical) staff equivalent to the base salary increases provided for the Classified Staff Salary Schedule effective July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2027. These increases will be calculated with each affected employee’s annual contract salary schedule start date.  

Lastly, Director of Operations Jeff Woolard provided the Board with an update on the gymnasium floor renovation project. During the project, 60 square pieces from the previous gym floor have been salvaged. The Board discussed donating those pieces to the athletic boosters. 

The next regularly scheduled School Board meeting takes place on Tuesday, September 10th at 7 pm at the Central Office (10880 John Edwards Drive).
