Creativebug: Holiday DIY Ideas for a Memorable, Crafty Holiday Season

1606

Portage County District Library recently announced the addition of Creativebug to its Digital Library collection and there’s no better time than the holiday season to take a look at this site which offers PCDL cardholders free, unlimited access to over 1,000 instructional videos on a variety of DIY crafting disciplines. Creativebug is an instructional crafting site bringing the latest in art and craft education to its members, and works with renowned artists to do just that by offering these award-winning video classes taught by top designers and artists. By signing up for a free account through PCDL (using your library card number and PIN), library users can enjoy unlimited access to these art and craft classes. They can watch classes anytime, anywhere, and because classes never expire, they can start, stop, and return to projects at their own pace.

With Creativebug, library users can learn how to paint their own gift wrap, learn a variety of gift wrapping techniques, learn how to stamp and emboss their own gift tags, and learn creative ways to display their holiday cards. There are videos on baking cookies, making hand-rolled truffles, and instructions on how to master buttercream frosting. Interests don’t stop at the holidays. There are classes and workshops on art and design, sewing, quilting, paper crafts, knitting and crocheting, food and home, and several other crafting interests for throughout the year. To learn more about this great new service and other library programs and services, visit PCDL at www.portagelibrary.org, clicking on the Digital Library tab afterwards.
