Parkman 55+ Seniors
First Thursday of Month
Please join area seniors over 55 for a monthly gathering on the first Thursday at the Parkman Community Center at 11:30 am. With the exception of an occasional field trip, the gathering includes a pot luck lunch and socializing and various programs such as entertainment, informational lectures and Bingo. Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

On the last Thursday of the month a free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is cordially invited to come eat and enjoy some fellowship. The meal is from 5 – 6:30pm, the Last Thursday of each month January through October at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. Come join us!

Easter Egg Hunt
April 8
Easter Egg Hunt event hosted by New Adventures Child Center, in partnership with Boy Scout Troop #575 and #7575, and the Hiram Kiwanis Club. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on April 8 from 10 am to 12 pm at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua, Ohio 44255. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be games, face painting, a bounce house, and other fun activities for children and families to enjoy.

Sunrise & Easter Service

Harvest Point Church, 2121 Salt Springs Rd., Lordstown, Ohio, will conduct an Easter Sunrise Service April 9, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. Easter service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday School will be held at 10:00 a.m. as well. All are welcome.

Outdoor Easter Sunrise Service In Newton Falls
April 9
An “Outdoor Easter Sunrise Service” will be held Sunday, April 9 beginning at 7:30 AM. The outdoor service will take place at the Newton Falls City Park – at the pavilion located near the basketball courts. The 35-40 minute service, led by First Baptist Church, Newton Falls, will include Easter hymns, prayer, communion and a brief devotion. Individuals may bring lawn chairs to sit in the grass area or may remain in their cars and listen on their radio as the service will also be broadcast using an FM transmitter. Host pastor is Rev. Steve Spurlock.

MaRSI Meeting
April 10
The next Mantua Restoration Society, Inc. (MaRSi) meeting will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 7pm at the Mantua Township Town Hall, 4122 State Route 82, Mantua, Ohio 44255. MaRSI seeks to develop funding to preserve historic buildings and sites for them to be vibrant, integral parts of township government and civic life. MaRSI 2nd Friday Supper

On Friday, April 14, 2023, the Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is having their 2nd Friday Soup & Salad dinner. The dinner, featuring home-made soups, fresh salads, and yummy desserts, is at the Mantua Center School between 4 and 7pm. A new addition to the supper is music featuring Skip Schweitzer on guitar, Cal Craig on banjo, and vocals by Sarah Harvey. Donations are graciously accepted. Dine in or carry-out is available. Come see us on April 14, The Mantua Center School Annex is located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township.

Paint Party Fundraiser

The Renaissance Family Center of Windham, Ohio, 9005 WilVerne Drive, is having a Paint Party Fundraiser. Saturday, April 15th from 2-4 pm. The cost is $30 per person. All materials are provided. Harvest Point Church Food Pantry
April 19
Harvest Point Church Food Pantry, located at 2121 Salt Springs Rd., Lordstown, OH 44481, will hold their next distribution on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. This is a drive-up distribution and no ID is required. Simply complete a form providing your name, address, and dates of birth for family members residing in your home. This distribution contains primarily canned goods/dry goods and, on occasion, special items.

Swiss Steak Dinner

First Congregational Church UCC in Rootstown is having a fund-raiser drive-thru dinner on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 4 to 6 pm. Dinners are $13.00 and include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, salads, green beans, corn, roll and cake. Please enter from St Rt 44.
