Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Senior Center will be open for breakfast Monday mornings 7am to Noon. We will be COVID compliant, so PLEASE call 330-889-2733, as reservations are highly recommended. Parkman 55+ Seniors

First Thursday of Month

Please join area seniors over 55 for a monthly gathering on the first Thursday at the Parkman Community Center at 11:30 am. The gathering includes a pot luck lunch, socializing and various programs such as entertainment, informational lectures, and field trips.  Also, open to non-Geauga County residents. 

Loaves  and Fishes Community Meal

Free  meal  open  to  all residents in Mantua,Hiram,Garrettsville and surrounding areas.  Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars or even if you just love a homemade meal.  You are cordially invited to come eat and enjoy some fellowship. This meal is from 5-6:30 pm, the LAST Thursday of each month at Mantua Center Christian Church. 4118 S.R.82.  This runs January through October.

VFW Lenten Fish Fry

VFW Auxiliary Post 1055, 6000 New Milford Road, Ravenna will be hosting a Lenten Fish Fry on Fridays weekly through April 10th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Menu: Fish, Shrimp, Chicken Fingers, French Fries & Coleslaw. $11. Combo dinners available for $15.

Braceville UMC Rummage Sale

Braceville United Methodist Church located at 589 Park Rd. in the center of Braceville off of St. Rt. 82 will be having their annual Rummage Sale April 7 and 8 from  9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.          

Swiss Steak Dinner

Boy Scout Troop 4065 of Nelson is hosting a Swiss Steak Dinner at the Nelson Community House on Saturday April 9 from 3:30 to 6:30. Dinner includes Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, cornbread casserole and dessert. Eat-in or take-out available. Adults $15 each.

Easter Fest  / Trunk or Treat Style

Join us at The Fountain Family Center  12888 State Route 88- Nelson twp (north of Route 305) on Saturday April 9th, 11am-1pm for a “Trunk or Treat” style indoor Easter event for all ages!  Everything will be totally FREE! Every child will receive filled Easter eggs and a bag to continue to fill up with goodies from all the different decorated stations.

A ‘To-Go’ hot dog lunch bag will also be provided for everyone.

Phipps Farms Angels in the Innfield Dog Training

Join us for Junior Trainer Program for kids ages 6-12 and our Trainer Apprentice Program ages 13-18. Orientation will begin on April 9, 2022 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. We will start with orientation with the kids to see what they know on how to take proper care of their pets. We will have four segments to this program; each segment will be 1 day a week for the entire month. Cost for the entire program will be $20/per week per child (with dog(s)).  RSVP at 216-401-8307 Trainings will be in both outside training areas and training will be staggered to accommodate all. Friendly Squares April Square dance

The Friendly Squares will host their monthly square dance, Saturday, April 9th, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St., Niles, Ohio. Gene Hammond will be the caller and Frankie Hammond will be cuing line dances. This will be a High/Low dance with alternating tips for new dancers currently taking lessons and tips for more experienced dancers. Dress is casual and light refreshments will be served. Windham UMC Easter Sunrise Service

Windham United Methodist Church, located at 9051 North Main St., Windham, Ohio  44288, will be hosting a Sunrise Service at the Gazebo on April 17.  The service will begin at 7:30 am. Please bring your lawn chairs.

3-D Mammograms at JAG Elementary

Women’s Diagnostic Center will be here on April 19, 2022.  If you want the convenience of not having to go out of town to get a mammogram, please call the Elementary 330-527-2184 and ask for Gail to schedule your mammogram. You will need to bring your insurance information to your scheduled appointment. Call by April 18, 2022.

Spaghetti Benefit Dinner for Ken Alexander

Garrettsville Lodge is holding a spaghetti dinner benefit on Saturday, April 30  from 5 pm to 8pm. All proceeds will benefit Ken Alexander (a member of the lodge that suffered a major medical event and then a few days later his daughter passed away during childbirth). Adults will be $10, kids 10 & under $5. We’re planning on having a few items to raffle as well.
