Coats for Catholic Charities

4783

On February 15, 2016, the Portage County Chapter of the Knights of Columbus presented Catholic Charities Director George Garchar with 60 coats for children in need. The Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program was started in 2009 to keep kids warm in harsh winter climates.  Representing the Knights were Mike Rogers of Randolph Council #2039, Dave Bender of Garrettsville Council #11801, Joe Mackle of Ravenna Council #1411, Jerry Biltz of Rootstown Council #5173, and Jim Crofford, Noah Kendrick and Andy Olson of Windham Council #4433.  Kent Council #1417 also participated in this project.  Joshua Taylor, grandson of Mike and Diane Rogers, modeled the coat.  Father Kraynak of Immaculate Conception in Ravenna was also in attendance for this presentation.  Director Garchar was very appreciative of the efforts of the Knights of Portage County.
