Charles H. “Chip” Sorrick III, 81, of Freedom Twp, OH passed away Thursday morning June 2nd, 2022 at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, OH. He was born in Akron, OH on January 30th, 1941 to the late Charles H. and Ethel (Miller) Sorrick II.
He was a 1959 graduate of Kent State High School. Charles enjoyed woodworking and being a machinist. He was self-employed as the owner of Franklin Machine in Kent for many years.
Charles also enjoyed being an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Kent as well as working at the Geauga Historical Society for over 15 years.
He was a great conversationalist and an avid steam train buff.
He will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 32 years, Beverly; children, Charles H. Sorrick IV, Matthew Sorrick, Laura Sorrick-Brennen, Stephanie Bertsch, Jim Britton; many grandchildren; and many friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Road, Middlefield, OH 44062 with Rev. Julie Fisher officiating. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
