Laura Marek recently celebrated her 100th birthday with a pizza party planned by her grandchildren. A Mantua-Shalersville resident for nearly 80 years, Laura was well known for her green thumb and her gardens filled with bountiful vegetables and beautiful flowers. Family and farm were always her greatest loves, as she owned and operated the family farm alongside her late husband, Lawrence. Laura is the mother of five, grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother of 11.
