Celebrate Ohio Native Plant Month with Geauga SWCD’s Spring Tree Sale!

156

April is officially Ohio Native Plant Month and you can add more native trees and shrubs to your yard with Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District’s Spring Tree Sale!  Ohio has nearly 1,900 native plants – including trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, and grasses.  Native trees and shrubs are abundant in benefits as they absorb stormwater, prevent flooding, improve soil health, remove air pollutants, sequester carbon, sustain wildlife, and feed the bees and critters that pollinate most of our food crops.  This year’s tree sale offers a streamlined selection of both bareroot seedlings and 1 – 3 gallon container native trees and shrubs.  From Black Gum to Red Bud and Bur Oak to Pawpaw, this year’s selection is colorful, affordable, and suitable to a wide variety of landscaping needs.  Rain barrels are also available for year-round backyard benefits!  Consider purchasing tree sale gift certificates for unique, meaningful gifts.

To place an order, please visit our website at geaugaswcd.com.  There you will find descriptions of tree species available along with the online ordering link to place orders and make payments.  This is the recommended and easiest way to place your order!  If unable to use the online ordering option, a form is available to submit with payment.

Don’t delay – order deadline is Monday, April 7th.  Orders are filled on first-come, first-served basis, and Geauga SWCD does not offer guarantees or refunds on purchases.  The tree sale pick-up dates are Friday, April 25, from 9 am – 4 pm, and Saturday, April 26, from 9 am – 12 pm at the Geauga County Fairgrounds.  Don’t delay – order your trees today!  Questions?  Call 440-834-1122.
