Middlefield – On Saturday, Aug.13, the Cardinal School District held a community get together at the Cardinal High School football stadium to provide an opportunity to meet many of the organizations in town that support the schools and students throughout the year.
Burton-Middlefield Rotary was a participant and passed out information about their many and varied youth programs available through Rotary.
These include $2,500 scholarships, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy or RYLA which is held in early June every year at Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, the Rotary World Affairs Seminar or WFS held in Wisconsin every year, and Rotary’s 4-WAY Speech contest, a district speech contest held for high school students in February and culminating at the finals held at the Rotary District 6630 Conference of Clubs in April. All these great opportunities are supported financially by the Rotary Club of Burton-Middlefield. Some provide funding for further education and others provide students with excellent resume builders for their future educational years and valuable training for their adult lives.
