Burnege Earl Owens, 76 years of age of White Stone, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Wednesday, April 6 2022 in Mechanicsville, VA, following an extended illness.
Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Jennings Bryant and Hazel (Blankenship)Owens.
He was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and was of the Baptist faith. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1970-1982.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and was a retired construction worker and gold miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, LaDonna Oxley and many brothers, sisters and beloved friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his Life Partner, Waltraud “Val” Bauer of White Stone, VA.
Brother: Leon Owens of Virginia; Children: Robert E. Owens, Sandra Whyde, Melissa Owens all of Ravenna, OH; Dianne Steele of Nevada and April Rogers of Virginia. He will be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many loving family members.
Services were held at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 23, 2022 and he was placed to rest in Hibbitts Cemetery, Grundy, Virginia.
