Denise Delillio opened her stained-glass studio, Beacon Hues Glass, in her home in Mantua just one short year ago. This weekend, she welcomed friends and family to her new studio space at 10511 Main Street – a warm and inviting space with even more room for classes and workshops.
As a child, I absolutely adored stained glass,” she shared. “I’d sit in church, mesmerized by beauty of the colored windows around me. I was fascinated by the way the light beamed through each piece. I told myself that someday, I’d learn how to do that.” Delillio credits her drive to express herself through art as a way to prove a former art teacher wrong. She channels that energy to help her students unlock their creative potential. Classes are designed for small groups or one-on-one sessions, allowing for tailored instruction that caters to specific interests and skill level.
“Opening this new location is both scary and exciting,” she shared. Not only will the new space provide ample room for workshops and private classes; it also provides a gallery space to feature paintings, mosaics, jewelry, and notecards from area artists as well. And this creative space is the ideal location to host small events, too.
“To me, it’s not just about the intricacy of the glass; it’s about the story each piece represents,” Dilellio concluded. Her art has been featured in juried art shows at the Trumbull Art Gallery and Medici Art Gallery in Warren, Ohio, as well as at the YWCA Women and Family Art Shows in Youngstown, Ohio. In addition to classes at her own studio, Delillio is an instructor at the master craftsman’s J Leonard Gallery and Vintage Emporium in Garrettsville, Ohio.
