“Bash and the Pirate Pig” Appearing at Village Bookstore

1138

Burton Cole, Nelson Township resident and author  has released his first novel nationwide for middle grades readers, Bash and the Pirate Pig.

The age range is for readers ages 8 to 14. “But we’ve run tests on adult readers and judging by their laughter, we conclude that I managed to not write it over their heads. They think it’s about them as kids. It just might be…,” Cole said.

Illustrations were drawn by Tom Bancroft, a former Disney artist who helped animate the likes of “Mulan” and “Lion King,” and who worked for Big Idea (VeggieTales) before setting up shop on his own.

The books are published by B&H Kids, the children’s division of B&H Publishing (LifeWay Christian Resources). The cover price is $12.99, and are available in bookstores nationwide, especially LifeWay stores. It is also available on websites for B&H Publishing, Amazon, Books A Million, Barnes & Noble and Walmart, among others.

Burton W. Cole lives outside of Garrettsville in Nelson Township with his wife, Terry. He is assistant metro editor and columnist — “Burt’s Eye View” — at the Tribune Chronicle in Warren, where he has worked since 1996.
