Audrey P. Cool Taylor passed away peacefully and quietly at her home on June 14, 2025. She was 92 years old.
Audrey Cool was born on August 23,1932 in Diana, WV to Jesse B. Cool and Minnie A. Rebrook Cool who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Burnsville High School in 1950. Audrey met her future husband, Dennis Taylor, in high school and they married after he returned from time in the Navy in January of 1951. She and Dennis moved to Garrettsville, OH that same year where they lived before moving to Abbott Road in Hiram, OH. They later moved into Hiram village in 1965.
Audrey was an active member in the Evangelical Free Church in Garrettsville, OH where she was the church secretary for almost 30 years, retiring at age 84. Audrey loved her job and served three different pastors. Her office was often abuzz with church members just stopping by to chat with her during the day.
Audrey was an avid animal lover and always had a pet dog whom she spoiled. Bella, her most recent furry friend, was completely devoted to Audrey and rarely left her side even during her short stay at home on hospice. She was an enthusiastic crafter and especially loved sewing and crochet. She had a wonderful sense of humor that stayed with her until the very end. Audrey was a devoted Christian who never wore her beliefs on her sleeve, rather quietly lived a spiritual life, confident in her faith.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Robert, Jim and Lloyd along with Robert’s son Bob. And by her sisters in law, Velda Taylor (Kenneth) and Rebecca Cool (Robert) and also by her good friend Olive (Polly) Wagner. She loved them all dearly.
