Artists from northeast Ohio will be exhibiting their works at the Juried Art Show sponsored by the Geauga Council for Arts & Culture. The show will be held at the Geauga West Library from August 7 – 16. The Library is located at 13455 Chillicothe Rd. in Chesterland. This is an excellent chance to purchase affordable original pieces done by local artists. The public is especially invited to meet the artists at a reception on Wednesday, August 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The exhibit will be open during regular library hours.
Artists may submit up to three pieces, the first for $15 and $10 for each subsequent entry. They should be brought to the library on Monday, August 5 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Categories include oil, watercolor, photography and other. All items in the first three categories must be framed and able to hang on a wire. Entry forms may be picked up at the library or by calling Paul Newman at 440-286-9549.
Each year the Arts Council purchases one of the pieces from its exhibit to donate to a local agency. This year the recipient will be Geauga Park District. A representative of Geauga Park district will select the item they believe will be most appropriate for their agency.
