Art Hits the Sidewalks in Mantua this Weekend

1983

Mantua – To help make the holiday weekend more colorful, the Mantua Rotary Club will be hosting a sidewalk chalk competition on Saturday, April 3rd. The first ever, friendly competition takes place in front of the Crestwood High School from 1:30 – 3:30 pm, and provides aspiring chalk artists of all ages to come out and add their own flair to brighten the weekend. In addition to adding color to the Village, artists have the opportunity to win cash prizes, adding some green to their pockets. Artists categories span from age four and up, with prized for the top three winning entries ($15, $10, and $5 respectively).

The rules are simple — images must have an Easter theme, and only chalk can be used to craft your drawing. Contestants must draw and color their own entry and are requested to observe social distancing at all times.
Don’t forget to bring a spray bottle filled with water; used sparingly, it will help keep your chalk design from blowing away.

When artwork is complete, each participant must provide his or her name and age to register the artwork with a judge; winners need not be present to win. Pre-registration isn’t required; make plans with friends or family to attend this special event and add some color to your holiday weekend.
