April Is Autism Awareness Month – Let’s “Light It Up Blue”

2190

Garrettsville – The Garrettsville Freedom Nelson Joint Fire District invite the community to join them as they “Light It Up Blue” for Autism Awareness Month ~ a fundraiser to benefit the Hiram Farm Living and Learning Community.

Hiram Farm is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first two years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, impacting development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Both children and adults on the autism spectrum typically show difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities.

Since June 2009, Hiram Farm has provided opportunities for adults with autism to grow, learn, work, and live in a setting focused on respect and support for individuals and the environment.

With income streams lower than usual due to COVID -19 restrictions, Hiram Farm has been unable to do their traditional fundraisers and they could use your help!

Please consider joining the Garrettsville-Freedom-Nelson Fire Department as they “Light It Up Blue” by purchasing a shirt and showing your support. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit Hiram Farm.

Shirt orders will be accepted through March 15th with delivery – shipment before April.

Orders can be placed on-line at villagerprinting.com or at the Villager office – 8088 Main Street. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
