Aurora – Aurora Community Theatre presents BREAKING GROUND: Musicals that Made an Impact! for four performances only at 8 pm Fridays and Saturdays March 1—9, at the theatre, 115 E. Pioneer Trail. The two-act revue will feature solos, duets and group numbers from Broadway shows that influenced the history of musical theatre.

The ensemble cast will feature 16 talented performers, many of whom have appeared in ACT musicals, including: Theresa Benyo-Marzullo, Korinne Carroll Courtwright, Ron Davis, Jordyn Freetage, Lisa Georges, Adam Harris, Nathan Hill, Thomas Horsfall, Tom Jones, Paul G. Josell, Mari McCloud, Diana Nabring, Santino Palma, Savannah Patterson, David Rusnak, and Jacob Schafer.

Will C. Crosby directs the ensemble cast with D. Keith Stiver, musical director, Marc C. Howard, producer, Amie W. Gabel, choreographer and Ann Nyenhuis, stage manager with Dave Nyenhuis, assistant stage manager and set construction. Maggie Hamilton designed the sound and Craig Kollai, the lighting, while Nancy Welsh coordinated costumes. Vicki Rizzo-Prato, is the liaison with the ACT Board of Trustees. Marianne Gingras designed the show image, poster and yard signs. CPH Communications coordinated box office and marketing.

The evening will include selections from Oklahoma, Hair, Chicago, Into the Woods, Rent, Wicked, Spamalot, Once, Dear Evan Hansen, and more.

Following the March 2 performance, at about 10 pm, the theater will host BROADWAY MELODIES, a fundraiser to support the Elizabeth “Betts” Colebrook and Lynn Potter scholarship funds. All proceeds from the $10 ticket will benefit the scholarships. The event will feature complimentary refreshments, live entertainment, and a chance to meet the cast of BREAKING GROUND.
