Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary is moving closer to changing the club meeting time and location, partly in hopes of  becoming more accessible to more local  residents and business people.  The prospect of having lunchtime meetings at Cal’s II would seem to have advantages and may well be tried this summer, when  the Hiram College Dining Hall may not be available.  Parking is also part of the consideration.  Discussion continues.

The stipend for an incoming exchange student has been set at $75 per month.  Rachel Schwan is preparing to be an outgoing exchange student, come August.

Under the topic of “better late than never”, the following businesses and individuals are sincerely thanked and appreciated for their contributions to the successful  completion of this year’s Family Week activities:

McDonald’s, Charles Auto, Windham Sparkle Market, Garrettsville IGA, Windham Pharmacy, Cal’s Restaurant, Family Pharmacy, the Hiram Inn, Ryser Insurance, Ellerhorst-Russell Insurance, Middlefield Bank, McCumbers-Brady Realty, Dairy Queen, the Business Works, John Crawford, Mary Ann Brockett, Macek’s Tents for Rent, Boy Scout Troop 4262…as well as the Garfield Interact Club, Theo Cebulla and students from Garfield and Windham schools.

Power of the Pen students will be on the agenda soon to present some of their writings from this year’s competitions.

Five thirty to seven or thereabouts , at the Hiram College Dining Hall.  Y’all come!
