The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Children ages 2-5 (adults stay for fun, siblings welcome) are invited to Time for Tots on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Our goal is to provide a safe indoor environment for young children to play, craft, enjoy music & burn energy. A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. Friends of the Hiram College Library Announce Annual Book Sale

The Friends of the Hiram College Library invite students, alumni, and the community to a three-day book sale featuring children’s and young adult books, adult bestsellers, mysteries, sci-fi, and more—plus toys, posters, and classic book fair favorites. Book Sale hours are:
Friday, March 28: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, March 29: 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 30: 1:30 – 5 p.m. Hardback books will be listed $1 and paperback books will be listed at $0.50. Sunday, March 30, will be ‘Bag Day’ where visitors can fill a provided bag for $5. Money raised during the sale will be used to purchase new books and resources for the Library. Parkman Chamber of Commerce will continue the tradition of Pancake Breakfasts in March. On March 30th they will be serving up their famous pancakes and special recipe sausage patties from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Parkman Community House (16295 Main Market / U.S.Rt. 422).
Learn About Easter

Do you wonder why we celebrate Easter? Kids (with parents/guardians) from ages 3 to 12 are invited to come and join us on April 5 from 11:30 to 1:30 to listen and learn just what Easter means.Harvest Point Church is not having the traditional egg hunt. We are telling the Easter story through twelve short object lessons. Each child will be given, one by one, a total of 12 eggs, each with a symbol inside each egg to help them learn and remember what Easter is all about! After all twelve cars/individuals have given the children an egg (approximately one-minute long explanation), there will be popcorn, hotdogs, drinks, and a goodie bag for each child. Come join us and celebrate in a new way! Harvest Point Church is located at 2121 Saltsprings Road, Lordstown.

Shalersville Historical Society Open House

Shalersville Historical Society will hold its monthly OPEN HOUSE Sunday April 6 at its museum, 9154 St Rt 303 from 2 – 5 PM. In addition, our monthly meeting will begin at 3 PM. Election of officers will be held & discussions will continue about the July 13 dedication of the restored School # 3. These are exciting times for our historical society and we invite you to be a part of that. Our meetings are open to anyone interested in Shalersville’s history. Light refreshments will be provided
Friends of the Garrettsville Library April 2025 Book Sale

The Friends of the Garrettsville Library Book Sale will be held on the following dates: Friends ‘Members Only’ Preview on Wednesday, April 9, from 2 to 6 pm; Open to the public Thursday, April 10, and Friday, April 11, from 10 am to 6 pm; Saturday, April 12 from 10 am to 2 pm. All items are $.25 to $1.00. Saturday is BAG DAY! Bring your own bag and fill it for $5.00. Membership in the Friends is just $5 per year and may be purchased at the door or in advance at the library. Cash donations are always welcome and appreciated. EGG FEST 2025!

On Saturday, April 12th at 11 am, The Fountain Church located at 12888 State Route 88, will be holding their annual EGG FEST! The event is completely FREE and all done inside! The event resembles a “Trunk or Truck” style event. Come and walk through different table stations decorated with different themes loaded to give out candy to each child! Upon arriving,each child will be given their own Easter tote bag already filled with lots of candy and toy surprises- and they will add to the goodies as they walk through the event and receive even MORE treats. Passion of the Christ — Movie

On Good Friday April 18,2025 at 6:30 The Fountain Church will be showing the movie PASSION OF THE CHRIST, located 12888 State Route 88, Garrettsville ( north of Route 305) The event is FREE to the public. The movie is rated R- due to the explicit graphics, therefore parental accompanying is required. There will be separate secured child care supervision opportunity offered for children under 12 years of age where they will be offered a time of fun and games, with a small snack during the showing of the movie.
