Nasreen Kitko was the presenter of the program on Comics and Super Heroes for the members of the Twentieth Century Club of Garrettsville on February 20, 2025 at the home of Mary Furillo, who was assisted by Maureen See and Shirley Danku.  Roll call was responded to by naming one’s favorite comic or SuperHero.  The “usual suspects” were named, to wit : Super Man, Spider Man, Wonder Woman, Six Million Dollar Man, Mighty Mouse, Under Dog,, Peanuts, Scoobie Doo, etc., but local favorites were Lance Gorby, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and at least one husband.

There was a final review of the changes to constitution and by-laws and notes for upcoming events, including the program on March 20 (honoraries to be invited) and the Spring Party in April.

The program featured Super Heroes and the Marvel Universe as experienced through memorabilia & gifts, history of the genre, television, books, personal adventures and close-up looks at the Fantastic Four, highlighting movies and money.  It has been said that superheroes change history…and history has changed superheroes, from propaganda aims during times of conflict to online fandom. Shazam! the cheesecake was super too!

Next meeting will be on March 6, 2025.
