The city of Ravenna marked its 225th anniversary with a spectacular Ravenna Rocks concert and fireworks display, drawing large crowds for a full day of music, festivities, and community pride.
The event began with DJ Krooze and the Krew energizing the early crowd with a lively mix of tunes that set a festive tone. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed food, vendors, and activities, creating a vibrant atmosphere that highlighted Ravenna’s strong community spirit.
A special moment during the festivities was the Honorary Way Ceremony, where Julie Piccione Beach was recognized for her significant contributions to the Ravenna community. The heartfelt ceremony was met with applause and admiration, honoring Beach’s dedication to the city.
Ravenna’s own Kendall Chalkwater, an emerging singer-songwriter, delivered a standout performance that captivated the audience. Chalkwater, who has been gaining attention from Cleveland to Nashville, showcased her talent and potential, drawing support from friends, family, and local fans.

As the afternoon continued, the Back Alley Relics took the stage, bringing their blend of classic rock, blues, and original songs to life. The Kent/Ravenna-based band had the crowd singing and dancing along, proving why they’re one of Northeast Ohio’s most exciting acts.
Country music enthusiasts were treated to a performance by Matt Carson, a local singer and songwriter known for his traditional country sound. Carson, who has been blind since birth, wowed the audience with his musical talent, leaving a lasting impression on all who listened.
The 1052 Band kept the momentum going with a set that kept the crowd engaged and ready for the evening’s headliner, The Michael Weber Show. Fronted by guitar phenom Michael Weber, the band delivered an explosive performance that had the audience on their feet. Weber, who gained national recognition on MTV’s “Amazingness,” brought his signature energy and skill to the stage, making it a night to remember.
