Italian Garden Comes to Burton

Burton – Italian food is one of the most popular ethnic foods in America, and Tim Weiss knows how to make it. With over 15 years of experience, you might say Weiss has marinara in his veins. He started the Italian Garden Restaurant in Garrettsville in 1997. He eventually sold the business to spend more time with his wife and ten children. In June of 2010, he purchased Extreme Pizza in Mantua, converting it to the Italian Garden concept. He has since franchised the Mantua location out, but when space became available to bring Italian Garden food to Burton, Weiss jumped at the opportunity.

And Burton residents are happy to see him come to town, leaving loads of positive feedback on the restaurant’s Facebook page. One recent diner posted, “It’s great to have a good pizza restaurant in Burton! We had the BLT pizza tonight, and it was awesome. They have the best pizza crust ever!” But there’s more to the Italian Garden than just great pizza dough.

“We pride ourselves on our quality food,” states Weiss. The menu features a variety of appetizers, salads, pizzas, and calzones, in addition to burgers, subs, chicken and pasta dinners.  Pizza dough, marinara and desserts are made in house. Weiss continues, “We offer our customers homemade taste without the wait.”

Weiss opened the doors of The Italian Garden in Burton in early September, and has been doing steady business ever since. Customers have been finding out about Italian Garden’s food through word-of-mouth advertising. Here’s what a recent diner had to say, “I make my own pizza at home with my own sauce and dough made from scratch, so I’m pretty picky about eating pizza from anywhere else. On a whim we stopped at The Italian Garden, and were thoroughly impressed with the deep dish pizza. It was thick with mozzarella and toppings, and the crust had a buttery flakiness to it – yum!”

Other customers have commented about the delicious homemade desserts. One diner said, “I had a piece of your caramel apple cheesecake — It was amazing! Keep up the good work!” and “The desserts last night were awesome! We will definitely be back…sorry it took us so long to try you guys out!”

The Italian Garden is located on the east side of Burton’s town square, on South Park Street in the space formerly occupied by Joel’s and the Burton Grill. Call (440) 834-1195, or check them out on Facebook for hours and specials.
