Ravenna – The Portage County Historical Society will begin new hours of operation starting September 1, 2012.  The Society is located at 6549-51 North Chestnut Street, Ravenna OH and will be open on Thursdays and Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. To 6:00 p.m. The museum and library will no longer be open on Sundays for tours or research.A membership survey was sent out in the fall of 2011. The number of replies overwhelmingly was in favor of later hours to accommodate school children and genealogy researchers. Saturday was the preferred day for tours.

The Society will continue to offer group tours by appointment or rental of the Strickland House or Pavilion for meetings, bridal or baby showers, small class reunions, picnics, or other events.
