Summer is moving quickly and we are nearing the beginning of the school year.
Students are reminded to have their required immunizations before school begins. Kindergarten students are required to have all of the shots mandated by the State of Ohio prior to entering school in the fall. Documentation must be provided to the school by a parent prior to school’s beginning date. Checking with your pediatrician is a good idea to see if your child is due for a Well-Child visit, too. This is a good time to contact your health care provider for information.
Students entering the 7th grade are required to have a TDap Vaccine and a Meningococcal vaccine prior to the beginning of the school year. Documentation can be submitted to the school online or via fax.
Students entering the 12th grade are required to have a 2nd Meningococcal vaccine prior to beginning school in August. Documentation is also required to be submitted to the school.
The Portage County Health Department is holding immunization clinics on Wednesdays from 8a-12p. This will be by appointment only during this time. Please call 330-298-4490 so schedule a visit.
