Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

1658

Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary met–at long last–on June 1, 2020 at Cal’s II, Sky Plaza, Garrettsville in a meeting in (socially distanced) person and on-line with Zoom, including assistant district governor Karen Bordanaro in some of the discussion.  Tech connections and  difficulties were part of the ambience.  The district officials urge continuing to comply with state guidelines; the upcoming international convocation will be zoomed for all members and participants. There were thoughts on visitations of neighboring Rotary clubs.   Debra Blake presented an overview of the recent PETS meetings which focused on connection with community, more appealing activities, attracting new members, survey of members’ preferred direction.  The district grant meeting will be on June 1; President John Crawford will make the G-H bid for improving the Headwaters trailhead.  Also on the  very flexible docket–new approaches to fund-raising, considering virtual events, a golf outing,an ATV/golf cart parade, miniature golf…whatever—new ideas always welcome.

Happy bucks centered on good cheer at returning to in-person meetings, as well as other celebrations and a truck restoration.  It’s all good.
