Mantua – If you’ve been in the Village of Mantua recently, you’ve noticed that a variety of projects have been steadily progressing in spite of Covid-19. Those who were saddened at the closure of the Chase Bank branch last May will be pleased that the old space is being renovated for new life.
According to Mantua Village Mayor Linda Clark, the Middlefield Banking Company purchased the old Chase Bank building on Main Street. Clark noted, “The village worked closely with Middlefield Bank to get all the permits needed to get this project going.” She continued, “We look forward to having them in the center of town.”
Melissa Maki, VP/Marketing Communications Director at Middlefield Bank, noted that Middlefield Bank has been part of Mantua since 1998. “We have proudly served the Village of Mantua community for more than 20 years,” she remarked. This newly renovated location in the village allows Middlefield Bank in Mantua to offer the convenience of drive-thru service and a drive-up ATM. The new location at 10691 Main Street opened on Monday, April 27th.
The mayor noting the need to find a new business for storefront Middlefield Bank is leaving. According to Maki, Middlefield had been renting the space they occupied at 10519 Main Street.
