Coleman Adult Day Services looking for volunteers to share their time and talents with Seniors. Only once a month or more if you could come to our center in Ravenna Mon-Fri at 11am or 1pm to play a game with them or do a craft. Community Center Open
Tuesdays
The Community Center at Mantua Center will be open just two more Tuesdays, October 27 and November 10, before closing down for the holidays and winter. Free coffee is ready by the time the watercolor painting group gathers at 9:30, and more is made as needed. We hope to finish the jigsaw puzzle we’re working on before we shut down. Sewing projects are available, and our crochet teacher hopes to be there. Potluck lunch is at noon. As always, we are closed on election day. Township citizens, come and vote in the same space!

Treats & Trails 5K Walk/Run on October 24th at 9am, starting at Advanced Rehab.Registration opens at 8:15AM. There will be prizes for the first 3 male and first 3 female finishers along with the 3 winners of the costume contest and 3 winners of the pumpkin carving contest. Youth Shoot (Intro to Shotgun)

The Streetsboro Sportsman Association is hosting a free youth introduction to shotgun course on October 24th at 10.The club is located at 11280 Bloom Rd., Nelson Township 44231. The attendees will receive instruction in the safe handling of firearms, followed by the opportunity to shoot. The course will be taught by NRA instructors. Shooters are required to have a responsible adult present at the range. Lunch is provided. Space is limited. The Ladies Guild of St. Mary’s & St. Joseph’s Church of Newton Falls will be hosting their annual turkey dinner on Oct 25th from noon-3pm. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12 and free for children under 5. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Raffle tickets will also be available at the dinner. Dinner will be held at the St. Mary’s & St. Joseph Social Hall at 120 Maple Drive in Newton Falls. Carry-outs will be available.

All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast

Windham American Legion post 674 auxiliary is having an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on October 25th from 8am-noon. Cost is $6. This includes buckwheat and regular pancakes, 2 sausages, coffee, milk or water. All proceeds to children’s Christmas party.

Newton Falls Trick or Treat Night will be held from 5-7 p.m. The costume contest begins in town at 7 p.m., immediately followed by the cake walk. Donor groups may drop off cakes at 16 West Broad Street all day.

Trick-or-Treat: Find out what animals eat!

Join us as we explore what animals at the Hiram College Field Station eat as they prepare for winter. Children will search for animal tracks, learn about food animals eat and store, and make collections of forest items for crafts. Stuffed Pork Chop Dinner

There will be a stuffed pork chop dinner at the Braceville United Methodist Church (off of St. Rt. 82) on October 31st from 4-6:30, unless food runs out. The dinner includes mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread, coffee, tea or punch. The cost is $10.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Takeout’s are available.

Fall Festival

Life Church in Garrettsville will be hosting a FREE carnival style Fall Festival on November 1st from 2-4:30. There will be food, crafts and games for children through grade 5! The Bristol Elementary sixth grade class will be holding its annual Chance Auction on Nov.13 in the elementary cafeteria. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and winners will be drawn at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $3.00 and includes 10 free regular auction tickets.
