9-Year Old Donates to United Way of Portage County COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund

2000

Ravenna – Provision Honey, a charitable project led by 9-year old, Isaac Waldeck, made a $850 donation to the United Way of Portage County (UWPC) COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. The donation was generated from the sales of the local, Midwest honey. Isaac launched Provision Honey this past Thanksgiving with the goal of raising money for charities targeted toward those who are homeless or struggling with basic needs. Provision Honey donates 100% of the profits from their sales to charities.

Isaac is a third grader at Suffield Elementary School. He said, “Reading and recess are my favorite classes.” He especially likes Harry Potter books. Isaac’s dad Kent Waldeck owns and operates Crafted Artisan Meadery.

“Thank you Isaac and Provision Honey for your generous support and donation to the UWPC COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. These funds are used to help local non-profit organizations, like the Randolph Suffield Atwater Food Shelf at St. Joseph Church, Randolph, and school districts to provide services to the most vulnerable in the community. UWPC is committed to supporting our communities’ residents needs during this health emergency,” Bill Childers, President and CEO, UWPC.
