Pancake Breakfast a Success

Hiram – On April 20th the Hiram Police Department held a pancake breakfast fund raiser for the “Shop with a Cop” program. The event was a success in that $992.55 was raised for the program. FUND-RAISERThe “Shop with a Cop” program provides Hiram/Garrettsville/Mantua area children, and their families, the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season. The program is designed for less fortunate and under privileged children to go holiday shopping, for themselves and families, with a police officer. The program brings about much heartfelt joy to a lot of area children and families. I would like to thank everyone that graciously supported the pancake breakfast fund raiser, because of you we will be able to provide resources to ensure that more underprivileged families will be able to enjoy Christmas this year. It was heartwarming to see the community support from virtually all of the Portage County area. We were joined by United States Army Corporal Daniel Lukas at the event. Corporal Lukas partnered with the Hiram Police Department Officers to show his support to our community and helped to ensure that the fund raiser was a success.  If anyone is interested in providing resources to the “Shop with a Cop” program, please contact Hiram PD Chief Ed Samec 330 569-3236.
