Newton Falls – The Eagle Creek Conservation Club is pleased to announce that they will be holding their 40th Annual Youth Fishing Derby on Sunday, June 2, 2013. The event will take place at the Newton Falls Community Center pond located at 52 East Quarry Street in Newton Falls. The derby is a free event open to all children ages 15 and under. Registration begins at 11am and the contest will run from noon until 2pm. The event has been a local tradition for years where those who have participated in the past are now bringing their children for the experience. The fishing derby is held to help foster children’s appreciation of the outdoors and interest in fishing.
