Held annually since 1986, the Sugar Bush Golf Classic to benefit Hattie Larlham has become a much-anticipated tradition! The outing is a scramble-type tournament with two rounds: morning or afternoon. Golfers enjoy a day on the links, as well as breakfast or lunch and an awards dinner at Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville, one of Ohio’s top public courses.
Participants can qualify for several individual and team prizes, and can participate in fun contests such as closest to the pin, hole-in-one, longest drive and putting. More than 220 golfers participate each year. Proceeds from the Sugar Bush Golf Classic benefit children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living at Hattie Larlham’s Center for Children with Disabilities in Mantua, Ohio. Since the outing’s inception in 1986, the outing has raised more than $1 Million to enhance the lives of the people in Hattie Larlham’s care.
In light of current public gathering restrictions and other mandated protocols that may be issued in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hattie Larlham leadership and the Sugar Bush Golf Classic Committee have made the decision to postpone the Sugar Bush Golf Classic presented by Middlefield Banking Company. The new date has been set for Monday, August 17. We are grateful to the Koval Family at the Sugar Bush Golf Club for their flexibility in rescheduling this event for us, and to our sponsors and participants for their understanding.

Due to gathering restrictions currently in place in the State of Ohio and to ensure the safety of all golfers, the Sugar Bush Golf Classic will not be using a shotgun start in 2020. We will be moving to scheduled tee times for all foursomes. You are still able to register for your preferred flight (morning or afternoon), and tee times will be scheduled. After registration, you will be contacted by the Hattie Larlham event team to schedule your tee time and receive all event details, including safety precautions in place.

In addition to sponsorship and event tickets, raffle tickets are another great way to support this event. Tickets are available for purchase online and offer a chance to win one of three high-value prizes, including a $1,500 cash grand prize! Tickets are $10 each and 3 for $25. The prize drawing will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, August 17; winners need not be present to win. The golf classic raffle is generously sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2436 in Chagrin Falls.
