Worthies of the Twentieth Century Club of Garrettsville came out as card sharks during the February 5, 2026 meeting held at the home of Nasreen Kitko. This took place after the roll call wherein members volunteered their favorite indoor games (Golf and mountain climbing not counting). Old standbys predominated–Yahtzee, Scrabble, Parchesi, Euchre, Pinochle, dominos, Rummy-cube, Monopoly–but online challenges also made an appearance.
Nominating committee for next year’s officers was named–that’ll teach them to be absent from a meeting. Information on the Spring Party to be at the Welshfield Inn was repeated.
Mary Furillo set up the table for some low-down sessions of Uno after giving some brief background on the Ohio inventor of the card game UNO and its many varieties. Vegas has nothing to fear from the “sharps” from Garrettsville but the enjoyable evening finished with delicious refreshments and exits to the frozen Ohio evening.
Next meeting will be on March 5.
