James A. Garfield High School student Daphne Kline, age 14, has proven that hard work, dedication, and creativity can result in big rewards. Daphne, a talented young crafter and 4-H member, recently won first place for her beautifully crocheted blanket at the Portage County Randolph fair—an accomplishment she completed with 30 hours of crochet work.
Her mom submitted the blanket on her behalf. The result? A beautiful, colorful masterpiece that caught the judges’ attention, securing her the top prize.
In addition to her success with crochet, Daphne also presented two pens of chickens as part of her 4-H activities.
