People Tree 2015
People Tree is now getting ready for the Christmas Holiday; the barrels have been placed for your convenience at the Library, Middlefield Bank, Huntington Bank and Bay Window. If you are interested in being a bell ringer, please call Kim at 330-527-4873. The bell will be at IGA, Save-4 and Save-A-Lot. The bell money is our only fundraiser for the year. TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS

The 3rd Annual model train display in the North Bloomfield Town Hall will be open every Wednesday from 5-8 pm and every Saturday from 2-5 in December. More than 250 feet of track has been laid to showcase a winter village and a summer village. It’s an all new layout prepared by volunteer train crews. There will be refreshments and a Lego village. The 1893 town hall is on the east side of the North Bloomfield Park. Join us as the trains go round the track and back again.
Christmas Rummage Sale

Christmas rummage sale at Christ Covenant Church will be Dec 3rd and 4th from 9-3 and Dec 5th from 9-noon. Great items, holiday bake sale and Chinese auction. Donations are welcome. Proceeds benefit Charity Children’s Ministries. The Church is located on Route 87 in Middlefield.
Stroke Awareness

Geauga Safety Council will meet at Punderson Manor on Dec 4. Bridgett MacMichael from UH Geauga Hospital will be presenting information on “Stroke Awareness – Get the Facts, Be a Hero”. Registration begins at 11:15 and the meeting ends at 1:00. Registration is required. Contact Sue at safety@middlefieldcc.com.
Soup Supper

The Mantua American Legion and Auxiliary soup supper will be held at the Village Park Lodge on Dec 4th at 6pm. A variety of homemade soups, salads and desserts, as well as the popular hot dog bar will be available to the public for $7.
Toy Drop Off

There will be a toy drop off at Cole Valley Chevy in Newton Falls on Dec 5th from 9-1. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to help the kids of Newton Falls. You don’t have to get out of your car, an elf will accept your donation with a smile and a thank you.
Angel Shoppe

The angel shoppe will be Dec 5th from 9:30-2:30 at Huntsburg congregational church, 12435 Madison road, Huntsburg. Bake sale, crafts, vendors, light lunch, and kids can shop for presents on their own with a little help from Merry Lou the elf. All purchases will be wrapped and labeled. Fill a Cruiser

The Garrettsville Police Department will be having a Fill A Cruiser Event in front of the Garrettsville Save A Lot on Dec 5th from 10-3. We are collecting nonperishable food items for the Garrettsville Nelson Food Cupboard. Cash donations will be collected for the Hiram/Garrettsville Shop with a Cop program.

Western Reserve Kiwanis annual Pizza with Santa will be Dec 5th from 10-12:30 in the Hiram Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 6868 Wakefield, Hiram OH. Cost is $3.00 per person — children 2 and under free — pay at the door. Pizza, cookies, & beverages. Nine Lessons and Carols

The public is cordially invited to the Garrettsville United Methodist Church’s ceremony of Nine Lessons and Carols, to be offered at 7:00 p.m. on December 12 by the adult chancel choir. Readings throughout set the tone and inform the message. The musical selections to be presented range from a simple Advent prayer through Medieval-sounding plainsong to the triumphant announcement that “The glory of the Lord shall be revealed.” All are welcome and, like salvation, it’s free.

Mantua Center free clothing giveaway will be Oct 24th from 9-noon in the old Mantua Center School building. You will enter the back side of the building, go down the stairs, turn right into hallway. Chance Auction at Bristol Elementary

The Bristol Elementary sixth grade class will be holding its annual Chance Auction on Nov.13 in the elementary cafeteria. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and winners will be drawn at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $3.00 and includes 10 free regular auction tickets.
