Save the date – Vintage Ohio is August 3rd and 4th this year. What is Vintage Ohio you ask? It is Ohio’s largest wine festival held at Lake FarmPark in Kirtland, Ohio. Enjoy the day sampling wines from over 25 Ohio wineries, see over 30 over vendors in the fine art and craft show all to the background beat of reggae, jazz, blues and oldies musicians.
Have I piqued your interest? Well, keep reading because there is so much more. Your Adult (over 21 years of age) Wine Sampler ticket into Vintage Ohio allows you to receive a souvenir wine glass, a tasting ticket to visit the winery booths, see all of the artists, listen to the musicians, enjoy demonstrations from local cooking schools and stay for fireworks on Friday night.
More and more people are traveling to locations around the greater Cleveland area as Ohio is building up its reputation for great wine. So Ohio Wine Producers Association is offering you a chance to drive to one location, Lake FarmParks (about a 45 minute drive from Garrettsville), to try wines not only from wineries in the area but also from Valley Vineyards near Cincinnati, Marietta Wine Cellars in Marietta and even Hanover Winery from Hamilton. Make sure after you visit the far wineries that you head over to your local winery, Candlelight Winery (Garrettsville, Ohio) – we will be located in Wine Tent 1 right as you walk through the gate!
Need a break between wineries? Stop by the Taste of Ohio booths to sample a selection of locally-grown-and-made food. Taste of Ohio strives to promote local companies, support Ohio’s agricultural and tourism industries and to celebrate the history and heritage of our state’s culture. Or do you want to learn more about cooking with wine or just freshen up on your cooking skills? The Western Reserve School of Cooking will be offering classes both days ranging from cooking challenges, cooking with wine and my favorite – making desserts.
As you get ready to leave, you will enter the wine tunnel where all of the wineries at Vintage will be set up for you to purchase their wines to go. Be sure to pick up some wine from your favorite choices that weekend. No matter what you buy or where you taste, make sure you have a good time, sample wines that you haven’t tried before and be sure to stop by our booth and say hi! We look forward to seeing you there.
