Portage County Gardeners Need Crafters!

Firedevils Seeking Vendors
Auburn Firedevils, auxiliary to the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, is hosting its sixth annual arts, crafts and consultants fair Nov.18 at Adams Halls, 11455 Washington St, Auburn Township, from 10 am to 4 pm. Historical Society Looking For Military Items
The James A Garfield Historical Society is in search of military uniforms for the Vietnam, Revolutionary and Afghanistan Wars. We are also looking for pictures of veterans in uniform for our new Military Room. One of our future programs will discuss Freedom’s 8 one-room schools that served the township until the building of the Freedom School shortly before the US entered World War I. Burton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #459, 14052 Goodwin St., Burton, will host a Bingo and Raffle to help fund Scholarship Program and Buckeye Girls State. Doors open at 5pm with raffle at 7pm. Admission: A non-perishable food, bath and personal hygiene items, or cash donations to be donated to local food bank. Raffles $2.00 each. Shalersville Annual Community Potluck Dinner
September 17, at the Shalersville Town hall the annual Community Potluck Dinner and Chinese auction will be held at 1:00pm. The Interurban Trolley
The James A Garfield Historical Society will be having a program on the Interurban Trolley that once rolled through downtown Garrettsville. Scott Lawless has spent many hours researching the Trolley and its history with Garrettsville and the surrounding areas. The program will be held at the James A Garfield Historical Society’s building on the corner of Main and High at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 19th. Be sure to troll into town for this very interesting presentation!! Light refreshments will be served.
