Garrettsville – The Third Annual Santa Pub Crawl for Garrettsville Summerfest was a huge success Saturday afternoon. A record number of people came out dressed in some of the most outlandish Christmas attire ever to make it a fun and festive event.

The crawl is similar to a poker run, only done on foot. Each person selects a card at the participating establishments in an attempt to form the best poker hand. Over eighty folks set off from Sky Lounge shortly after 3 pm, spreading their Christmas cheer throughout town. Stops included the Villager Emporium, Sean’s Pub/Slim and Jumbos, Silver Creek Saloon and the Eagles Club.

In addition to drawing a card, each stop had “Christmas specialty drinks” and treats for the “crawlers”.

After a day of merrymaking, they made their way back to the lounge for a catered dinner and to see who had the best poker hand. It was determined that Ted Lysiak ended up with the best hand, coming back with a full house earning $100.
After the dinner, there was a 50/50 drawing and a Chinese auction with prizes donated by area businesses.

To round out the evening it was karaoke time! Let’s just say most of them need to keep their day jobs. Thank you goes out to Aaron King for a fun way to start the Christmas season and a great event that helped support the community’s annual summer festival.
