Newton Falls – It’s a new year and a new look for one local hometown business that has been around for nearly twenty years. Known for the past decade and a half as Pamida, the one-stop-shop store located just on the outskirts of town on Rt. 534 has fresh paint, updated displays, a more customer-friendly layout, paving upgrades to the parking lot entrance and, most importantly, a new moniker on its bright, glow-in-the-dark sign. The public is invited to come see the place now known as Shopko during its official grand opening this Thursday, January 10th starting at 8:45am. A brief speech or two welcoming visitors and the new company branding will be followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and refreshments. As a special treat, the first one hundred customers in line will receive a $10 voucher to spend as they browse the improved selection and explore the reorganized interior. Special sales throughout the day will be offered so even if you’re not one of the first in line, there’s still something to look forward to during the event. If you can’t make the grand opening, there are plenty of regular incentives to catch a customer’s eye such as frequent sale prices, shopper loyalty cards, and prescription discounts through the pharmacy. Though the shelves and their products have been rearranged, many familiar faces are still there, and many favorite products are still available without the need to go out of the area to a big box store or the crowded mall, so stop on by and welcome this “new” business to town!
