Robotics Program Expands

The Trumbull County 4-H program has a youth club focused on teaching kids how to build robots and they are looking for new youth to join the club.
The 4-H robotics project is designed to engage youth in using science, technology, engineering, and math skills to build Lego robots.  Youth will work in small groups to build and program their own robot.  Kids will learn what a robot is, how to build one, and how to program it to interact with its environment.  The 4-H Robotics group earned three new Lego robot kids through a grant from the Ohio 4-H Foundation.
The Ohio 4-H program is a volunteer lead program for youth 5 to 18 years of age.  The Trumbull 4-H Robotics 4-H Club is led by two adult volunteers in the Howland area.  The group is open to youth between the ages of 8 and 18 years old (8 yr olds must also be in 3rd grade by 1/1/12).
The 4-H robotics club, called The Sky’s The Limit 4-H Club, meets on a regular basis at the Living Lord Lutheran Church, 851 Niles-Cortland Road NE, Warren, OH 44484.  Meetings are held on Saturday afternoon.  Two  items that would be handy to bring are paper and pencil.
Anyone who is interested in getting involved with the robotics 4-H club may contact the OSU Extension Office in Trumbull County at 330-638-6783 or may email the 4-H Extension Educator, Michelle Adkins at Adkins.240@osu.edu
