Ravenna  – In collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Robinson Memorial Hospital is providing a one-day opportunity for the public to safely dispose of expired, unwanted or unused prescription drugs and other medications on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 10 am – 2 pm in the parking lot of the Robinson Medical Arts Building, 6847 North Chestnut St, Ravenna.

This program is anonymous and all medications will be accepted. No questions asked and no identification needed.

In addition to medications, Robinson Memorial Hospital is also offering recycling of paper products as part of the “Take Back” event, courtesy of Neoshred. Neoshred bins will be available on site to accept the following items:

• Books  • Cardboard  • Coated paper

• Color paper  • Computer paper

• General office materials/files/paper/etc.

• Magazines  • Newspapers

• Phone books

• Shredded paper (bagged only)

• White ledger (standard white paper)

This event will be a drive-up and drop-off event; residents will have the opportunity to drive-up and dispose of their medications without having to leave their vehicle.  Paper recycling bins will be available in the same parking lot for easy access.

The Medication Take-Back event helps prevent the misuse and abuse of over-the-counter and prescription drugs with proper disposal; keeps hazardous chemicals from our water supply and wildlife, while helping protect children and family members from accidental consumption.
