Ready for Some Fun? Upcoming Programs at Garrettsville Library

1406

You’re invited to join us for a couple of interesting, fun programs at the Garrettsville Library. On Monday, August 20 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm there’ll be another Crafting with Marian program. Attendees of this very popular program series will be making a beautiful tabletop zen garden using a choice of containers, sand, and other items. All supplies will be provided. This is an easy, peace-filled project to work on and the garden is yours to take home. This is a free program open to all adults. There’s a $5 fee to reserve a seat, which is refunded the day of the program.

Then, on Wednesday, August 22 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, author Marty Gitlin will host a fun, funny presentation about his new book, which is the first of its kind to rank the greatest cartoon characters of all time. Gitlin’s presentation will feature cartoon snippets, trivia games, and he’ll discuss the criteria used for ranking them. Also, there’ll be a discussion about the historical significance of widely-popular cartoon characters- Popeye, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, etc.

Those interested in attending either or both of these programs should call 330-527-4378 for registration or register in-person during your next visit. The Garrettsville Library, a Portage County District Library branch, is located at 10482 South Street in Garrettsville. Library service hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm; Friday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm; Saturday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm; and closed Thursday and Sunday.
