Library Seeking Recipes for Cookbook Fundraiser

568

Have you got a great recipe that you would love to share with your friends and neighbors?  The Friends of the Garrettsville Library are collecting recipes for a fundraising cookbook to be published this spring. Our goal is to publish about 300 recipes.  While we are including old favorites, we are also seeking recipes that are low salt, fat, and sugar.  Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free would also be great. We are hoping to have all submissions into the library by April 1.

You can help us by contributing several recipes or asking your friends to help.  Please don’t submit a recipe from a commercial cookbook.  Recipe submission forms can be picked up at the Garrettsville Library during open hours. And you must remember to include your name.  Recipes must be typed or clearly printed.  Double check those ingredients and measurements.

Don’t cook?  Haven’t got a recipe?  You can be a special sponsor and help defray the expense of printing.  Sponsors will be acknowledged in the cookbook.  Please call the library for more details.

The Friends have been an invaluable source of assistance to the library.  Children’s Summer Reading entertainers and Santa gifts in December are paid for by the Friends.  The Friends have bought best sellers and new DVDs and have provided matching funds to purchase computers.  You will find them sorting mysteries for the March book sale or straightening book shelves.   Helping the Friends will help the library.

The Garrettsville Library is located at 10482 South Street (in the Village Park). Library hours are Mondays and Tuesdays, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm; Wednesdays and Fridays, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; Saturdays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; and closed on Thursdays and Sundays. Call 330-527-4378 for more information. Visit Portage County District Library online at www.portagelibrary.org for information about available library services and programs.
