Kerrigan Appointed To Commissioner

Ravenna – Following the December 28th appointment to the vacant county commissioner position by the Portage County Democratic Central Committee, Mike Kerrigan released the following statement:
“I am honored and humbled by the trust placed in me by the members of the Portage County Democratic Central Committee. As their selection to fill the vacancy of Portage County Commissioner left by the passing of Commissioner Maureen Frederick, I intend to continue her legacy of service above self – a responsibility that I do not take lightly.
“I look forward to starting work in 2018 with my new colleagues – Commissioners Kline and Christian-Bennett – and all other County officials and staff as we work to make Portage County the best place to live, work and play.”
Mike Kerrigan has worked and advocated for the citizens of Portage County at the local, state, and federal levels his entire career, serving in various positions for three current and former Members of Congress, The Ohio State University, and Northeast Ohio Medical University. Mike lives in Rootstown with his wife, Heather, and their daughter, Maddie. Mike and Heather are active members of the community, volunteering their time with numerous community service organizations countywide.
